Buterin said he runs his artificial intelligence setup entirely on local hardware, and has built custom tools around the large language model (LLM) to prevent his AI agents from sending messages or moving crypto without human sign-off. "The new two-factor authentication is the human and the LLM," he wrote. The post, published Wednesday, marks a step...

Bitcoin Gets Its First Bond Rating as Moody's Grades New Hampshire Deal

Wall Street credit agency Moody's just issued its first credit rating to Bitcoin-backed bonds. Moody's Ratings has assigned a provisional Ba2 rating to a pair of Bitcoin-backed revenue bonds to be issued through the Business Finance Authority of the State of New Hampshire. A credit rating works much like a credit score for an individual borrower. It's an independent assessment of how likely a debt is to be repaid. The firm says this is the first time a major credit agency has rated a bond direct...

Why GameStop Put $315 Million in Bitcoin Into a Covered Call Options Strategy

Video game retailer GameStop disclosed this week that it moved all but 1 BTC of its Bitcoin treasury holdings into a covered call options strategy on Coinbase Prime. By doing so, the 4,709 BTC stash—worth about $315 million as of this writing—has become a receivable rather than an intangible asset on the company's balance sheet. The reclassification matters, because it'll change how Bitcoin gains and losses flow through GameStop's quarterly earnings. Bitcoin treasury companies have been relativ...
