BitcoinBitcoin went bullish a few hours ago, coming out of the horizontal channel that has kept it locked up for the last week.
After having spent the last 10 days oscillating between $9,300 and $9600, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization managed to break a weekly resistance and reach levels not seen since a price dump two weeks ago.
As is often the case in the crypto-verse, the rise may have been caused by a rumor: citing anonymous sources, Coindesk reported today that PayPal appears to be working on enabling a service to let users buy and sell crypto.
After the report, Bitcoin surged from $9,400 to flirt with $9,800 per coin before settling back around the $9,600 mark.
That said, even before the rumors were published, Bitcoin had been slowly moving up after starting the day at a floor of $9,267 per coin.
Given the day’s low and the high near $9,800, the closest support in case of a correction is around $9,600. If Bitcoin manages to hold onto that support, it would be good news because the token would already be coming out of the horizontal channel it was in.
But if it breaks down, it would confirm that the move was a FOMO episode caused by a rumor, and we are still in a market with no clear trend.

The previous record was $3.40, set all the way back in January 2018. Ethereum and Solana had also outperformed Bitcoin’s weekly 5.5% rise, meanwhile jumping 21% and 8%, respectively. The...
BlackRock aims to include staking in its spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund, according to a rules change request submitted on Thursday by Nasdaq, where the fund is listed, to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Adding staking functionality to the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) would allow the product, which debuted last July, to earn yield by using the held ETH to validate transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, according to the 19b-4 proposal. Multiple issuers, including Fidelity, Gray...
