A happy day for LINK owners today as a hefty growth spurt of over 15% in the last 24 hours takes Chainlink’s LINK token to $25, a new all-time high.

Eagle-eyed Link Marines (holders and champions of the coin of the realm) saw the writing on the wall at the start of the week, when LINK dabbled briefly with prices of $22 to $23 on Monday and Tuesday.

Today, LINK set a new high watermark of $25.45 at 3:41 PM UTC, settling on a market cap of over $10 billion. Its current price is $25.13.

Chainlink: The bigger picture

LINK’s performance, however, is as volatile as the tempers of the Link Marines. LINK hit a new all-time high of $21 on January 15, only to crash by 20% some three hours later.

Still, while Bitcoin’s bull run attracted much gushing from all quarters, Chainlink had an even bigger year, exploding 1300% from a mere $1.77 on New Year’s Day 2020 to its current ATH.

Bitcoin briefly plunged to a low of $28,900 this week, bringing it back down to the price it traded at on New Year’s Eve, 2020.

Bitcoin isn't the only coin seeing red recently. Namesakes Bitcoin SV and Bitcoin Cash are both down 3% in the last 24 hours. This continues a pullback from both Bitcoin offshoots, which suffered approximately 15% losses over the last week.

Meanwhile, Polkadot (DOT), the fourth biggest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has risen by 3% in the past 24 hours. In addition, Aave’s AAVE and Tezos’s XTZ increased by 10%, making them the 17th and 18th largest coins by market cap, respectively.
