In brief
- Post Malone announced he has joined Fyooz.
- His manager Dre London is advising the social money platform.
- Fyooz first drop is the Celebrity World Pong League NFT.
American rapper Post Malone has teamed up with Fyooz, the social money platform that issues non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the name of music and sports celebrities.
The first drop for Post Malone will be the Celebrity World Pong League NFT. Those holding a sufficient quantity of FYZ NFTs—the native token of the Fyooz platform—will be airdropped new NFTs. These airdropped tokens will then enable them to enter the Celebrity World Pong League and play beer pong against Post Malone.
Launched by Post Malone last fall, the Celebrity World Pong League is a Facebook Watch series aired on Instagram, Messenger, and Messenger Rooms. The show features Post Malone going head-to-head against his fellow musicians and artists in a battle to be crowned the World Pong Champion.
NFTs are unique digital tokens typically running on the Ethereum blockchain. Unlike normal cryptocurrency tokens, each one is unique and can only be held by one person at a time. This has enabled them to be used for a wide variety of use cases, including a rapidly growing art scene.
Post Malone is one of the most streamed singers in the world and was the biggest winner of the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, taking home nine awards. His manager Dre London joined Fyooz as an advisor in November 2020.
“We’re working hard to bring the entertainment business and the crypto community together at Fyooz,” commented Dre London. “The different type of entertainment, experiences, and innovative NFTs we’re working on can help drive mass adoption and evolve the live entertainment business at the same time.”
Other artists who will offer Fyooz NFTs include Canadian comedian King Bach and American rapper Lil Yachty. As reported by Decrypt, the well known actress Lindsay Lohan has recently sold her first NFT donating the proceeds to charity.
