
Tether's Troubles Could Soon Include Antitrust Law
The Commodity Futures Trade Commission (CFTC) recently fined stablecoin issuer Tether $41 million for falsely claiming that each of its USDT tokens was fully backed by U.S. dollars. The agency also fined Tether’s sister company Bitfinex $1.5 million for letting Americans trade USDT and Bitcoin without official permission.
