XYO is one of the first DePIN projects, and has over 10 million nodes today. They convert real-world event data into cryptographic proofs that machines can verify. The company has partnered with AI-powered climate risk platform Resiliocs to add a verifiable data layer to climate risk modelling and financial analysis.

Climate-related lawsuits have more than tripled globally since 2017, and in 2018, the Paradise wildfire, the most destructive in California’s history, destroyed nearly 14,000 homes and ultimately left PG&E facing roughly $30 billion in settlement costs.

Investigations revealed that corrosion risks and ageing infrastructure concerns had been documented prior to failure, yet questions arose over the integrity and traceability of those documents. In high-stakes cases, liability turns not only on mechanical breakdown, but on records. What was known, when it was recorded, and whether risk signals were escalated can determine financial exposure.

Resiliocs is an AI-driven climate risk intelligence platform that helps organisations assess and quantify physical climate risks to infrastructure, assets, and portfolios. It combines climate science, geospatial modelling, and predictive analytics to forecast climate hazards and model potential exposure.

Their AI-powered hazard modelling, early warning systems, and scenario simulations enable insurers, asset owners, and financial institutions to price risk and optimise adaptation investments. However, as with any modelling system, the reliability of outputs depends on the integrity and traceabilityof the underlying data. If inputs are inaccurate, inconsistently stored, or not properly shared and reviewed across departments, it becomes difficult to assign responsibilityor ensure appropriate escalation within an organisation.

“We are moving into a phase where climate intelligence is not only about predictive accuracy, but about evidentiary strength,” said Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO. “AI-driven risk models are becoming more sophisticated, yet regulators and financial institutions are increasingly asking companies to verify the integrity of the data those models rely on. By anchoring cryptographic proof at the point of capture, we create a record of when and where an environmental observation occurred. In regulated markets, that level of verifiability is essential for accountability, auditability, and long-term trust.”

XYO addresses this challenge by separating data from proof. Rather than storing full datasets on-chain, XYO records cryptographic verification metadata describing when a real-world event occurred, where it originated, and whether it has been altered. This model is built on Proof of Origin and generated through bound witness interactions between independent parties. Verification metadata can be anchored to XYO Layer One, a blockchain optimised for scalable, long-lived proof records.

Through the partnership, XYO’s verification layer will be integrated into climate data pipelines to strengthen data capture, provenance, and long-term accountability. Environmental and geospatial observations can be anchored at the moment of collection, with XYO’s global network of more than ten million nodes providing cryptographic evidence that a real-world event occurred at a specific time and location, creating a verifiable foundation for downstream modelling.

For Resiliocs, the partnership strengthens its mission to deliver climate intelligence grounded in defensible data. For XYO, it represents the application of its reality engine to one of the most consequential categories of real-world decision-making.

About XYO

Founded in 2018, XYO is the first DePIN and among the largest, with more than 10 million nodes worldwide. XYO collects and validates data, connecting Web3, Web2, and industries such as AI, real-world assets (RWA), and geolocation. Its unique Proof of Location and Proof of Origin technologies secure data for asset tracking, DePIN applications, gaming, and a variety of other demanding industries. XYO created the COIN App, which introduced millions of users to blockchain by rewarding participation in data validation. The XYO token is listed on most of the world’s major exchanges, including Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin, and Bitpanda. In addition to establishing the XYO Foundation, XY Labs Inc. became the first crypto company in the United States to gain SEC approval for a Regulation A offering, opening investment to both accredited and non-accredited investors.

About Resiliocs

Resiliocs is an AI-driven climate risk intelligence platform that helps organisations assess, quantify, and manage physical climate risk across infrastructure, assets, and portfolios. The platform combines climate science, geospatial analytics, and predictive modelling to translate hazard exposure into financial impact, enabling users to understand how events such as floods, wildfires, and extreme heat may affect operations and long-term asset value.

Through tools including hazard modelling, vulnerability analysis, loss forecasting, and scenario simulation, Resiliocs supports insurers, asset owners, financial institutions, and public sector entities in pricing risk, strengthening resilience strategies, and meeting evolving regulatory and disclosure requirements. Its focus is on delivering forward-looking climate intelligence grounded in transparent, defensible data.
