Ethereum layer-2 network Abstract is building out its ecosystem with a growing list of consumer applications—including a major focus on gaming.
The chain’s most recent update indicates that at least 33 games or gaming-related projects will have some connection to the ecosystem after the Abstract mainnet launches this January.
To prepare you, we’ve highlighted 9 of the most anticipated games set to launch on Abstract.
While most blockchain launches come stockpiled with infrastructure and finance applications, the upcoming Abstract blockchain is taking a consumer-focused approach, aiming to excite and entertain active Web3 participants with “fun and viral” applications.
The Ethereum layer-2 network is being built by Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, which raised $11 million in July to “change the dynamic of how users interact with blockchain technology.”

Pudgy World
Pudgy World is the official gaming world of Pudgy Penguins, the NFT project whose parent company is building Abstract. Inside, users are able to build their own “forever Penguin” and explore mini-games, go on quests and adventures, and more.
The game is currently in pre-alpha, where users can create a profile and play Pengu Dash, a Frogger-inspired game in which you move your Penguin across a roadway and earn in-game coins. Users can join an early access waitlist at PudgyWorld.com to gain more information when on the project’s eventual launch.
Onchain Heroes
Onchain Heroes is a fully on-chain idle RPG game that’s launching soon. The developers announced that the game will use in-game infrastructure built by Proof of Play, the parent company of Pirate Nation, but launch on the Abstract network shortly after its mainnet launch.
It aims to require low-time, but high-thought commitments, with users expected to play 10-15 minutes per day while building guilds, navigating dungeons, and more.
The project held its Genesis Ring NFT mint on Ethereum in December, but will host the official Onchain Hero collection mint on Abstract soon. Season 1 of its gameplay will begin shortly after the mint.
A cyberpunk MMORPG, 77-Bit is a browser-based game expected to launch this January. For now though, the game developers have opened “Bithub”—a place for users to mine “bytes,” an in-game currency that will eventually be redeemable for a number of currently unknown items.
In the future, 77-Bit aims to make Bithub “a vibrant store and hub where players can easily discover new titles,” though new games won’t arrive until after its own game launch.
Until then, users can earn “bytes” by mining in the hub, inviting friends and completing daily missions. In just four days since launching its pre-beta Bithub, 77-Bit amassed more than 150,000 users.

OpenSeason is a battle royale game inspired by Fortnite, which features popular characters from Web3 culture like Bored Apes and Miladys. The game is already live on the Epic Games store or via direct download, and users can create custom battles against via private or public server sessions.
In addition to playing the game, users can earn FU—the Ethereum token tied to the developer behind the game, Fractional Uprising Studios.
To start, the game will allow users to earn native Abstract incentives by enabling the connection of the Abstract Global Wallet, though the team told Decrypt it is looking into ways to expand rewards for Abstract users. The smart wallet connection may also enable other communities or sponsors to hold their own tournaments with token rewards, and even provide specific benefits to players based on the assets they hold.
Gigaverse is an on-chain RPG that will launch on Abstract shortly after mainnet launch. Powered by Proof of Play’s fully on-chain gaming infrastructure, users will “explore, quest, collect, craft, and battle” to push their way through the infinite Gigaverse.
The project released its first trailer and plans to host its collection NFT mint on Abstract shortly after the network launch. For now, users can try to earn their way onto the allowlist for mint—which is guaranteed for holders of the project’s original Ethereum NFT collection, GLHFers.
game features at launch:
➜ combat: PvE (with PvP + wagering on the way) ➜ collect: ERC1155 item economy ➜ craft: put items to use ➜ progress: skill system ➜ customize: character skins
An interactive storytelling and gaming project, Plooshies was among the first games to signal its intent on launching on Abstract back in August 2024.
Its first endeavors include the launch of Plooshy Island, a “community-focused playground [that] invites players into a whimsical life-simulation experience,” and the CUDDLE token, which will follow the launch of Plooshy Island. Both roadmap items are scheduled for Q1 2025, according to updates from the community Discord.
The project’s flagship NFT collection—The Plooshies—launched in March 2023 and lives on Ethereum at present time, while granting exclusive benefits like free NFTs for Plooshy Island.

A monster-fighting game in which users battle dynamic AI agent-controlled beasts, Monsters.fun is set to launch on the Abstract mainnet sometime in the middle of Q1.
Inspired by games like Pokémon, Monsters.fun’s AI monsters that learn with each fight are tokenized on a bonding curve and battle other monsters. At the conclusion, the winner earns a portion of the market cap of its defeated opponents.
The game’s “Monster List” is now open, accepting submissions for day-one access to the game on launch. More than 150,000 users have done so, as of this writing.
5/ Battle
- AI agents learn and adapt, creating dynamic competitions.
- Communities strategize and upgrade their mons together.
A completely new genre of game, Duper calls itself a “5-player social strategy game where players bet like poker, trade like Catan, and backstab like Among Us.”
In the game, users build up card resources to compete against each other on a battlefield of tiles, with the ultimate goal of protecting their capital.
It is currently playable in ranked or casual mode, with top competitors earning the chance to mint its upcoming genesis NFT collection on Abstract, the Ace of Spades. The collection will grant future rewards and benefits to holders after launch—including free card packs and an allocation of “redacted”—hinting at a potential token.
Popular mobile game Flappy Bird launched in the Epic Games Store for Android this week, but the game’s latest reboot doesn’t contain any crypto elements—despite plans to launch a token tied to the now-shuttered Telegram version.
The tap-to-flap game maintains its classic mode that asks users to navigate a pixelated bird through a continuous field of pipes, as well as introduces a quest mode in the “Web-2 only” release.
“The Flappy Bird app available on Epic Games Store will never have any Web3...
