Despite the coronavirus' shutdown of the annual New York City Blockchain Week, several events, including the Ethereal Virtual Summit, will continue online, and free for everyone.

Today, the Ethereal Virtual Summit has opened for registrations. You can register here.

The Ethereal Virtual Summit kicks off May 7-8, and will feature fireside chats, AMAs, and roundtable discussions, as well as virtual networking rooms. The keynotes will also continue as planned, with several prominent speakers taking the virtual stage.

These include talks by:

  • Joe Lubin, founder, and CEO of ConsenSys and co-founder of Ethereum.
  • Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum.
  • Mariano Conti, head of smart contracts, MakerDAO.
  • Robert Leshner, CEO & co-founder, Compound.
  • Cami Russo, journalist, author and owner of The Defiant.

The Ethereal Virtual Summit is run by venture production studio ConsenSys, which owns an editorially independent Decrypt.

The hackathon at the Ethereal Virtual Summit will also proceed as scheduled. Run by open-source software platform Gitcoin, the event will encourage hackers from all corners of the earth to compete and build projects that aid the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem.

As Decrypt has reported, the global coronavirus lockdown has seen many crypto events turn from meatspace to cyberspace. At least seven virtual crypto events will be held over the next few months, the Ethereal Virtual Summit being one of them.
