XRP isn't far behind and is now up almost 9%. After briefly reaching a high of $0.279, it has now fallen back to its current value of $0.273.

Ethereum (ETH) is also performing well, having gained 5% to reach over $196—gradually inching towards the $200 price point not seen for almost five months.

Conversely, in terms of percentage gains, Bitcoin (BTC) is experiencing relatively muted growth, after gaining just over two percent in this time. Bitcoin currently sits at $9,380, having added just over $3 billion to its market capitalization in the last day.

Although today's sudden bullish spike is currently mostly concentrated on altcoins, popular market analyst Mati Greenspan believes that Bitcoin could surge to over $10,000 by the end of today. If correct, Bitcoin would attain a value not seen since September 2019. But the market may not react to his optimism.
