Cardano (ADA) is a multi-chain platform intended as a more efficient alternative to Ethereum. Its founders, among them Charles Hoskinson, believed Ethereum was too limited in its scope; it couldn’t accommodate large numbers of users, and had experienced forks that had disrupted the network. Cardano sought to resolve these issues by adopting a proof-of-stake protocol and peer-reviewing all changes to the network, in the academic tradition, so as to guarantee stability.
