When it comes to tap-to-earn games on Telegram, finding any kind of originality isn’t easy. But MemeFi actually puts a unique twist on the formula.

It is essentially the same at its core as many other Telegram games, in that you tap on the screen to earn virtual currency. However, this time there is more of a point, as every time you tap you take a small amount of health off the meme-inspired boss you have to take down.

There’s the usual suspects you would expect to tap on, with versions of Pepe and Doge getting in your way, but this small twist gives you a clear goal to work towards instead of just making the numbers go up with no target in mind.

After racking up millions of players over the last few months, the airdrop date has been announced—and it's one of the rare Telegram games that’s launching its token on a chain that isn’t The Open Network (TON). So if you're looking to get started or want to know the latest on the airdrop plans, here is everything you need to know about MemeFi.

What is MemeFi?

MemeFi has two main arms: The tapping game on Telegram, and a web-based game that spans a world map and a variety of menu-based missions. The latter experience appears to require bridging Ethereum (ETH) to scaling network Linea, but we encountered error messages when attempting to access from multiple devices.

But the Telegram game is alive and thriving, and totally free to play. It's also where the vast majority of players appear to be. At its core, it's a basic tap-to-earn game with a marginally different mechanic of fighting a boss while you make the number go up.

Like many Telegram games, it’s also effectively an advertising platform where you might get paid in tokens for watching ads. While you can tap on the screen to earn in-game currency and hopefully a larger share of airdrop tokens down the line, you can also just watch the daily YouTube videos MemeFi puts out, which give you loads of in-game currency for watching.

How to play MemeFi on Telegram

If you want to play the MemeFi Telegram game, it’s very easy: All you need to do is boot up the bot on the messaging platform and then start tapping away at your first boss.

As you tap on the boss, you’ll bring down their health and earn some in-game currency. By going to the boosters menu, you can then spend that in-game currency to increase your energy cap—which dictates how much you can tap in one sitting—or boost how much damage you do per tap.

The game also has a slots-style mini-game where you can play a few times a day to get bonus in-game currency payouts and some other benefits.

When is the airdrop?

The MemeFi airdrop will take place on November 12—and it'll take place on the Sui network, rather than Ethereum layer-2 network, as originally announced. Most Telegram games have opted to launch on The Open Network (TON), but MemeFi is taking a different course.

MemeFi's team is working with the Sui network creators at Mysten Labs to help onboard players, with MemeFi writing, "The in-app features and airdrop campaign will help you get comfortable with Sui—you'll see firsthand how fast, cheap, and smooth it really is."

A snapshot of player activity will be taken on November 6, with MemeFi set to reveal final token allocations on November 8 ahead of the airdrop. However, players can already "pre-check" their allocations ahead of time via the OKX Wallet.
