Ethereum-based metaverse game Nifty Island has added support for interactive AI agents, letting creators drag and drop them into their in-game islands to turn them into interactive characters.
Players can choose to easily integrate a selection of popular AI agents like Luna, AgentYP, or VaderAI, or they can create and deploy their own custom agent. Once placed on an island, players can then engage with the agents who can talk back, dance, and take actions on-chain.
“Just as we've done with NFTs and meme coins, our goal is to bring the things people are excited about on-chain into Nifty so people can play, create, and win prizes around them,” Nifty Island founder Charles Smith told Decrypt. “This is significant because up until now, crypto-native AI agents have functioned as chatbots on X. Now we've taken the first steps towards bringing them into games.”
AI Agents are LIVE 🏝️
Drag and drop your favorite Agents like @Agent_YP and @Vader_AI_ OR create and deploy your own!
Our powerful framework provides Agents deep in-game integrations, the ability to transact on-chain and much more. The potential is limitless.
By default, a user can only place an agent on their own island. However, users that hold at least 100,000 of the ecosystem’s native ISLAND token (nearly $3,000 worth) can deploy agents for use across all islands.
Those deploying AI will have the option to inject Nifty Island knowledge into agents as well, allowing them to know island names and descriptions, as well as detailing points of interest or active Nifty Island quests in the future.
AI agents are becoming increasingly popular in blockchain and cryptocurrency, driving trading, security, and smart contract analysis automation. These intelligent systems also have the potential to enhance decentralized finance applications, making them more adaptive and resilient.
According to Sellers Commerce, an e-commerce research firm, the AI agent market is projected to grow 538% from $7.38 billion in 2023 to $47 billion by 2030—a more than sixfold increase.

“Using this heightened awareness of what is occurring in-game and on-chain, they can dispense prizes based on that activity and chat with players,” Smith said. “In the future they will be able to serve as more active game participants, aiding in creation and play.”
As part of its growing multi-chain approach, Nifty Island recently announced its plans to build out the integration ofRonin, an Ethereum sidechain with strong gaming foundations. It also launched its ISLAND token for trading on Solana.
Nifty Island embraced a wide array of established communities in Web3 to help expand its Roblox-style metaverse game.
Now it’s rewarding them.
The project, which pioneered the now-popular “play-to-airdrop” campaign, just launched ISLAND, an Ethereum-based utility token that serves as the ecosystem token for its in-game economy.
Below, learn everything you need to know about ISLAND now that it's live.

The platform completed its play-to-airdrop campaign in December 2024, rewarding participating users with ISLAND, the ecosystem token that initially launched on the Ethereum blockchain.
Kling 2.0, a major upgrade to the state-of-the-art AI video generator released by the Chinese tech firm Kuaishou, hit the market last week to a flood of jaw-dropping reactions from creators, who quickly burned through hundreds of dollars testing its capabilities.
"AI video quality just 10x'd overnight. I'm speechless," tweeted AI filmmaker PJ Ace, who claimed to have already spent $1,250 in credits exploring the tool's limits. “I’ve never seen motion this fluid or prompts this accurate.” The pos...
Despite the buzz surrounding artificial intelligence, even the most advanced vision-language models—GPT-4o, Claude Sonnet 3.7, and Gemini 2.5 Pro—struggle with a decades-old challenge: playing the classic first-person shooter Doom.
On Thursday, a new research project introduced VideoGameBench, an AI benchmark designed to test whether state-of-the-art vision-language models can play—and beat—a suite of 20 popular video games, using only what they see on the screen.
“In our experience, current sta...
Night owls who hit the gym hard might be losing more than just sweat—your sleep could be taking a hit, too, according to a new international study.
Researchers from the United States, Australia, and Switzerland found that high-intensity exercise performed close to bedtime can significantly disrupt sleep quality, and slow overnight recovery. The findings, published Tuesday in Nature Communications, suggest that people seeking better sleep health should avoid strenuous workouts within four hours o...
