The developer behind wholesome Telegram game Farm Frens and the upcoming Everseed tower defense game has set its token launch and airdrop on Ethereum layer-2 network Base for next month. The studio also announced that it plans to bring the farming title closer to the world of Everseed as the token launches across the two games.
For months, gamers have been tapping away at the Farm Frens mini app on Telegram, tending to their land in a FarmVille-like spin on the tap-to-earn genre. As is the case with most games in this sector, players have mostly been doing this with the promise of a slice of a future airdrop.
Everseed, on the other hand, is a soon to launch tower defense strategy game based in the same universe as Farm Frens. While still in development, a number of NFTs for the game have already been released on Coinbase’s Base network.
On Tuesday, Amihan Entertainment—the studio behind the games—announced via the Farm Frens Twitter account that this airdrop will be coming in January 2025, although a specific date has not been set.
Allocations for the airdrop will be determined on the total number of Nuts, Dirt, and Dung earned in Farm Frens, as well as the total Everseed Ranger, Sprout, and Diddit NFTs held. All that prospective recipients must do ahead of time is connect their wallet via the Farm Frens Telegram game.
“We will not be announcing the [specific] airdrop date ahead of time. It will be a surprise (but with teasers),” Amihan co-founder Kenneth Liu, known as Kaizen, wrote in a Medium post. “Those familiar with crypto know all too well that the early bird gets the worm, so keep your eyes peeled.”
But it appears that 2025 will have more in store than just an airdrop for fans of Farm Frens and Everseed.
“Next year, we want to do more to tie the two projects together beyond just token distribution,” Kaizen wrote. “So we’re taking a bit of extra time now to prepare for an exciting united adventure as we trailblaze a next-gen form of interactive entertainment at the forefront of crypto and AI’s intersection.”
With this announcement, Kaizen also revealed that the character Amani—branded as your first Fren—has been voiced and piloted by AI this whole time. This is just the first step in the company’s experimentation with AI, and the firm claims to be developing “new systems to evolve the capabilities of crypto AI agents.” The co-founder finished by saying that AI will be core to the future of the studio and the games it creates.
