French startup Digycode has added Tezos (XTZ) to its assortment of crypto prepaid vouchers.
Users can buy the vouchers in over 10,000 retail shops across France.
Customers still need to undergo KYC procedures to redeem their crypto.
French customers can now buy Tezos (XTZ) in the form of prepaid cards in thousands of tobacco shops across France, thanks to a partnership between crypto startup Digycode and the R&D team at Nomadic Labs, which contributes to the Tezos core software.
“Tezos project is one of the most promising currently, it is one of those we have been monitoring for many months. Integrating Tezos into our services is part of a broader strategy dedicated to this protocol with such a French accent,” said Digycode’s spokesperson.
Previously, the startup also offered prepaid vouchers for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple’s XRP, Litecoin and Dash at the prices of €20 ($22), €50 ($55) or €200 ($220).
To get their crypto this way, users need to register an account on Digycode’s official website and enter the code from the vouchers they purchased. The amount of crypto received will be determined by the current exchange rates and the coins can then be transferred to any corresponding digital wallet.
While this system allows buying crypto without any kind of a bank account, Digycode’s customers still need to undertake a know-your-customer (KYC) procedure to receive their coins. Additionally, the startup has a hard-limit on redeeming—€1,000 a day with a total of €10,000 per month. Suspicious accounts can even be closed.
“Your account may be limited or closed. Indeed if we have reason to believe that you are using the DIGYCODE service for illegal purposes or that supporting documents are requested and remain unanswered,” Digycode’s FAQ stated.
According to Digycode, its prepaid crypto vouchers are available for purchase in over 10,000 tobacconist’s kiosks and other shops.
Digycode is a branch of the Toulouse Digital Service group that also comprises digital crypto trading services Zebitex and ZeBitcoin.
